Code Club workshops 2022
Free one-off in-person coding workshops for kids on Tuesday afternoons
- One-off: Each workshop has a different theme.
You can register for as many sessions as you want. - In-person: at the Forum on campus Geesseknäppchen, on the 1st floor.
Masks are recommended. - Free: All Code Club activities are free of charge, so that there are no barriers of entry.
- For kids from 8 to 12 years old.
Both beginners and experienced coders are welcome! - On Tuesday afternoons at 3pm in Luxembourgish & German,
and at 4:30pm in French & English.

Ateliers de programmation ponctuels en présentiel le mardi après-midi
- Ponctuel : Chaque atelier a un thème différent.
Tu peux t’inscrire à autant de sessions que tu veux. - En présentiel : au 1er étage du Forum au campus Geesseknäppchen.
Masque recommandé. - Gratuit : Toutes les activités du Code Club sont gratuites, pour que chacun puisse en profiter.

Astro Pi

Send your code to the International Space Station!
We will write a few lines of python code to display the air humidity onboard the space station. You can even add a personalised message that will be displayed to the astronauts!
Level: Beginners & advanced. Take your first steps in python, or have fun and shoot for the stars with an open-ended coding challenge 🙂
Envoie ton code à la Station spatiale internationale !
Nous écrirons quelques lignes de code python pour afficher l’humidité de l’air à bord de l’ISS. Tu pourras même ajouter un message personnalisé pour les astronautes !
Niveau : Débutants & avancés. Cet atelier s’adresse à tous. Tu pourras faire tes premiers pas, ou aller plus loin et viser les étoiles avec Astro Pi 🙂
mBot 2

This time, we will make the robots drive autonomously along a track. Note that you can attend whether or not you came to the previous mBot workshop!

We will code geometric shapes that can be cut out from colourful vinyl. You can come back to the makerspace (on another day) to press your design onto a T-shirt.
Feel free to attend on 28/6 and 30/8 if you enjoy coding and would like to create several T-shirt designs.

Self eSTEAM Kniwwelino Coding
Date: 16/06/2022 @ 15:00-17:00 (LB&DE&FR&EN)
(exceptionally on a Thursday and at 3pm – exceptionnellement un jeudi à 15h pour tous)
Customize your robot using electronics and code!
In this second workshop, you will add « Kniwwelino » electronics to your robot.
This will let you program it to add special powers 🙂
Don’t hesitate to come without a robot, you will still have fun tinkering with electronics!

BYOR: Bring your own Self eSTEAM robot, if you have one.
Personnalise ton robot en ajoutant de l’électronique et du code !
Lors de ce deuxième atelier de robotique, tu ajouteras de l’électronique « Kniwwelino » à ton robot.
Cela te permettra de le programmer pour lui donner des pouvoirs spéciaux 🙂
N’hésite pas de t’inscrire même sans robot, car tu pourras toujours t’amuser à bricoler l’électronique !

Self eSTEAM Robot Construction

(as usual on a Tuesday, but at 3pm – mardi comme d’habitude, mais à 15h pour tous)
Build a self-driving robot!
In this first workshop, you will build the basic version of the Self eSTEAM robot kit.
It is a nice challenge, so consider bringing a friend or sibling to work as a team.
We have a limited number of kits to give away. If you already have a kit, then come finish building it with us!

Construis un robot auto-piloté !
Lors de ce premier atelier de robotique, tu construiras le modèle de base du kit Self eSTEAM.
C’est un joli défi, alors n’hésite pas de t’inscrire avec un ami pour bricoler en équipe.
Nous avons quelques kits robotiques à distribuer, et si tu l’as déjà alors viens le construire avec nous !

Makey Makey

Discover electric circuits and invent crazy instruments!
We will explore Scratch and will have a lot of fun connecting unusual keys like Play-Doh or bananas to the computer.
Level: Beginners & advanced. This is more about the scientific & creative approach than about coding, and it’s so much fun 🙂

Nous brancherons des trucs inhabituels à l’ordinateur, comme p.ex. des bananes et de la pâte à modeler. C’est super amusant 🙂
